I'm a hard marker and this is a legitimate 10 out of 10. Couldn't have been a better experience. My tenant messaged me to say the lock tumbler (cylinder) fell out when he removed his key. I called Locksmith Express and Radoslav answered, I told him the problem, he quoted me a price and said he'd be here in 30 minutes. He was here in 20 and after 25 minutes he replaced the cylinder, and even fixed the door because it wasn't property aligned before (which was causing the problem). Invoiced me exactly what he quoted. So quick, so professional, so reasonable. Fantastic experience all-around.

I liked that WAV actually scheduled a day for me, unlike others that just gave me a range. They came on the appointed day, but due to a miscommunication (of which I definitely shared in the blame), a couple of windows were missed. I emailed to figure out what happened and promptly got a call back and they insisted on coming back first thing the next day (which is quicker than I needed). They showed me more in rectifying this situation than they could have if it had all gone right in the first take. I've got a tall house and the high floors were no problem for them. I'll certainly use them again. Very impressed.

I had a leaking washing machine and man was Samsung's customer service BRUTAL. When they finally agreed to come and fix it, they assigned Elite (work order #281088). I was given a window of 10-1, but I was only a 10 minute walk away so I asked if I could be given a half hour's notice before they came so I didn't have to sit around waiting. They agreed, and Atlan texted with a 30 minute heads-up, and he arrived right on time. He found the problem quickly, fixed it right away, tested it to make sure it was fixed, and gave me a couple of maintenance tips. He was a super-friendly guy and I was extremely pleased with the service.

The price was based on a really old Groupon. They were nice enough to extend the full value of the coupon (not just give me credit for what I paid). That's super nice, actually. I was serviced by Mark and Kevin. They actually arrived early and called to see if I was ready, but I wasn't back yet, so they just waited. That's a lot better than places where people are supposed to call you and give you notice but then just show up. Mark was wonderful in asking if I had any questions, and answering them if I did. He took some before and after pictures, and things looked a lot better (I had renovation dust). They were done within the estimated time, and were very clean, courteous and professional. The only minor negative was that they were supposed to send me the before/after pics, but it took them 2 weeks to get around to that. But the work itself was great and I'd use them again.

Left an email for Dodds through their site late on Sunday night and Monday morning somebody followed up with me first thing and I was able to have a repair person out Monday afternoon, which I was very happy about. My door was performing poorly for a few weeks and had finally fallen out of the track, the wire that connects to the pulley had fallen off on one side, and my door was stuck down, trapping my car inside. Within a few minutes, Art had the door sliding around again. He then did some work to properly reinforce the door, made sure everything was lubed, and did an adjustment to fix something I'd taken a crack at doing. Now the door is running smoother than it ever has in my time owning the house. Art was really knowledgeable (15 years' experience) and friendly and I'd have no hesitation calling these guys again.

I've got nothing but good things to say about Demetris. I actually had contacted him in 2011 through HomeStars and was impressed with him then, but my project got delayed. Fast forward to December 2015 and I asked a contractor friend if he knew any good flooring people. He mentioned Demetris, which gave me even more assurance. He came and did the work when he said he would and did a fabulous job. He turned beat up floors into something that looked like a brand new install, and even put in a few threshold pieces that were missing. He came back about a week later to follow up on a couple of minor deficiencies and was a pleasure to work with the whole process. His rates were very fair and my new contractors were so impressed with his work that they intend to work with him in the future. My highest recommendation.

Derek was a pleasure to deal with throughout the process. I felt confident hiring him, given his 10 years of experience and excellent reviews on this site. My prior contractors had taken a crack at doing my floors, but that was basically renting a machine and turning one of their guys loose on the floor. The results looked terrible, with swirly tool marks all over the floor. Derek assured me he'd fixed messes like this before, and Floorlab's quoted price was less than the other company I had quote, so I went with them. I couldn't be happier with the results. It's a night and day difference with the previous botched job. They not only got rid of the tool marks, they evened out a few wavy spots, and repaired a couple of cracks. Derek and Dave were also very careful with the walls and my kitchen cabinetry. My new contractor was very impressed as well. I'd have no hesitation in recommending them to friends, as they were communicative, reliable, did a great job, and were nice guys to work with. (Note the "after" picture doesn't do the floor justice. I asked for a matte sheen on the sealer, and it came out just as I'd hoped. But you can at least see what they fixed.)

I can't overstate how impressed I was with Dwayne. He came highly recommended to me by my new contractors. My old contractors had damaged my old York furnace (losing the two front panels) during the renovation and I didn't like their HVAC guy (he seemed lazy and and always in a hurry to leave). Dwayne got me a good price on the panels (I was quoted 50% more by the HVAC company that supplied my furnace), then came out and diagnosed the problem in the board (a few pins got bent or broken all together). He then fixed some weird wiring the old guy did, and tagged the furnace after checking the gas lines. I then had him look at my second furnace in my basement apartment that the old guy installed, because it smelled like gas in the furnace room. Dwayne did a bubble test and sure enough the old guy had left me with a leaking pipe. Turned out it just needed a couple of more turns to seal properly (but like I said, the old guy was lazy). He then double checked the rest of that guy's work and it happened to be okay. I'm so glad I found Dwayne & Culzac's as he knows what he's doing and honest about what's going down.

Mel is one heck of a friendly guy. He was good at working with me on a solution for a couple of tricky points. His crew were very efficient, did exactly what was asked, and were very clean. They capped a chimney vent the old furnace was using, and also broke down my old furnace to move it out. The high efficiency furnace runs great, and I'm happy with the job on the Rinnai tankless as well. I'll use them again for sure.

Two separate crews for this job. Prices were definitely fair compared to others. Crew knew what they were doing, were very clean, and also personable (a couple of guys were at both jobs, a week apart). On the second visit, they fixed a couple of things from the first job (some missed spots). For the attic job, they cut a whole in my ceiling and were nice enough to fulfill my request to take some pictures for me of my attic which I hadn't seen before. I'm in a Victorian rowhouse and was curious if I had firewalls up in there. I went around to various rooms with a thermometer before and after their job and compared temperatures and the insulation definitely made a difference. Back in the office, I'd say my initial contact with the receptionist was really great, and Joe was totally helpful as well, even answering questions in aftercare after they had my money. Would highly recommend these guys.

I'm writing this about a year after the installation so that I had some good perspective. After a fair amount of research, I knew I liked the product that Arrow 2000 carried (Armor series). I obtained quotes from 3 GTA carriers of this product. Arrow had the best price, and I also liked their salesperson, Rob, the best. I also liked that it was a family business and Rob (son of owner) had been in the business all of his life. The average cost per window might seem high but I had two huge windows (one arched) that were in the $2500 range each, and as I say, Arrow 2000's overall quote was best. As far as installation goes, the crew was nice and I felt they were sufficiently efficient and clean. I wouldn't call their execution flawless. I had one window that came with the hardware on the wrong side, and one with the wrong piece of glass (miscommunication). Also, I live in a Victorian and they weren't prepared for the amount of dust and junk that fell out of the walls (I went brick-to-brick). They also didn't adequately warn me of this or I would've covered and/or put a lot of stuff away. However, in every case, Rob made things right. Particularly impressive was that he offered up his office cleaning staff to come in on the weekend and clean up the copious amounts of dust and debris on my main floor, which included washing the floors. All on his dime. So while not flawless, everything worked out, and I thought the after-service was really good. He cared. And for that reason, I will use them again and I would definitely recommend them to others. (Note: I think people mark too easily on this site. I personally think 9/10 is a great rating. To me 10/10 would be flawless.)

I was first referred to Allan Kaplan (of Kaplan Freeman) several years ago after my friend had used him for her condo purchase. I've since utilized his services for 4 transactions over the years (buying and selling, condos and houses) and he's a pleasure to deal with. He gets to the meat of the issues, doesn't waste time on unimportant things, and has your best interests in mind. He's also reasonably priced. What I like best about him is that if you have a little question, he's approachable and he doesn't put you "on the clock" to answer a small query. I've referred him to a couple of friends for the purchase of their first houses (they liked him too) and would not hesitate to do so again.

I called Solutions based on the recommendation of a friend, and reviews here. I bought a house and inherited some tenants. In order to get insurance, I had to get an Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) certification on the place. It's an old Victorian with knob and tube and not many outlets. Solutions (I dealt with Frank and Parhez in the office) listened to my request and worked towards a solution that met my needs (I'm doing some major renos later on so just wanted a stop-gap solution at this time). Only negative points I'd make is that their quote yo-yo'd a bit (but in the end we agreed on a price that was fair to both of us) and that Parhez can talk fast and jargony at times (but he'll slow down if you just ask). But those were minor. I will definitely be contacting them when I do my major re-wiring as they're good people, fair, and they do things the right way.

I moved with Ultimate Choice near the end of May. I mostly dealt with Michelle back and the office and she is very pleasant. Keith came out to give an estimate, another time to drop off moving supplies, and another time a couple of weeks after my move when they found some shelves that I couldn't find and they ended up having. Good service. If you get an estimate in person it locks your rate in +/- 15% which ended up being to my benefit as the move took 6.75 hours instead of 5 (lots of small boxes and one tricky couch). The crew were all friendly and took care with my possessions. There are three reasons I'm not giving a 10 on this: - the crew showed up 45 minutes late and I didn't get a call (booked a 10am start time to avoid rush hour even) - they damaged a leg of my couch (big chunk of wood fell off which I'll attempt to glue back on) - I booked this a month in advance and was told that they were working on accepting credit cards and that it should be ready in a week. I called the day before my move to check (so that I didn't pack my cheques just in case) and they were still "working on it" I'd actually give an 8, which to me is a really good score, but I seem to be more of a hard-ass marker than everybody here. But to me 10 should be reserved for perfect. But don't get me wrong - I'd use them again in a second, and recommend them to anybody. They were definitely cheaper than other places I called around to, were very friendly, and cared about my possessions.
