We are very pleased with the work that Mirage Tiles (Tomasz) did for us. We hired Tomasz to remove the existing concrete coating that was starting to flake badly, and install porcelain tile in its place. Communication with Tomasz was easy and quick (whether by text, email, or phone). The price quoted was the price we paid, he performed the work on the agreed upon dates, and the finished job looks very, very good. I will definitely contact Tomasz when we require tile installation in the future, and would gladly recommend him.

This company lives up to its reputation. Extremely quick responses (most email/Whatsapp messages were answered in minutes), very competitive pricing, and quality installation of a railing that looks great. You know how you want something done, and you just want everything to go smoothly with no hiccups? That was our experience. I'd gladly recommend GTA Railings to anyone who needed their services.

I met Rob and Lion Hardwood Flooring through an online home forum when Rob was answering questions about the install of hardwood flooring. When I emailed Rob some questions regarding our potential project, what impressed me so much was the level of detail he provided. Lots of contractors give you the bare minimum of facts (I understand many are busy), but Rob's response was extremely thorough. He discussed: suggested species of woods and manufacturers, problems we might encounter with stair nosing and how he would tackle that, and pricing for every element of the job (install of hardwood, mouldings, lifting the stair nosing, etc.). It was way, way more than I had expected from an introductory email and it impressed the hell out of me. Rob made a visit to the house a couple of days later, and went over every part of the job. He identified some small issues (a squeaky subfloor and the previously mentioned height difference between the new hardwood and existing stair nosing), and clearly stated the anticipated cost. The actual install couldn't have been better. The finished product blew us away. Transitions between tile and hardwood are flawless, and the nosing issue with the stairs was handled perfectly. Super, super impressed. Great work. I wouldn't hesitate to use Rob again. I would have liked to attach images but HomeStars rotates each image 90 degrees sideways which just looks ridiculous.

I contacted Quality Potlight due to their reviews on HomeStars and Quality Potlight's website which details prices and posts many images of their work. For me, all communication was done via email. I always received responses quickly. QP was able to schedule our job (ten potlights and a second storey chandelier install) within the week. As far as the job itself, we couldn't be happier. The difference between the "before" (builder-grade garbage track lighting and a single globe light in the foyer) and the "after" is dramatic; not only is there more light, but the quality of the light is so much better. The two employees were friendly, quick, happy to answer any questions, and efficient. You can tell they do this often and it shows. The installer suggested adding two potlights to create a more natural look, and it was definitely the right thing to do. The potlights are precisely lined up and perfectly flush. As far as the chandelier install goes (located in a two storey foyer...very hard to get to), they tackled that well too (LED lights in that fixture should mean that it won't need its lights to be changed for a lonnng time!). People always seem to wonder about the clean-up, so I'll mention that everything was covered before the work commenced, and the area was carefully vacuumed by the employees at the end of the work. Quick communication, friendly service, quality work. Highly recommended.

We contacted Solutions Electrical when two kitchen outlets suddenly stopped working, and we needed an electrician to diagnose and correct the condition. I emailed three highly rated companies on HomeStars, fully aware that we may have some problems getting someone to show up for such a small job. Frank, from Solutions, replied to my email within an hour, stating that he would contact us shortly. True to his word, he did just that, explained the possible issues, their availability, and the associated costs. An appointment was made for two days later, and they arrived on time. Joe quickly corrected the problems with the two outlets and explained what the issue had been. Since this was what we had contacted them for, we expected this to be the end of the service call. Instead, Joe also corrected a small cosmetic issue with another outlet in the room, and then proceeded to inspect the electrical panel in the basement. Almost every screw which held the breakers in place were significantly loosened, so he corrected that. He also noticed that the breakers that were installed for the central air-conditioning unit (~20 years ago) were not correct for that panel, and swapped them out for us. All of this additional work was performed for the minimum service charge. That's what you call going above and beyond! It's easy to see why this company gets the reviews that it does. From the initial email to the actual repairs, it was an A1 experience. It's nice to see tradespeople who combine both integrity and knowledge. Great experience. P.S. We still haven't heard from the two other contractors ;-) Short Version: -Super quick and professional communication -Arrived on time -Corrected the issue and then proceeded to correct other issues out of courtesy -Very friendly and super knowledgeable

It's easy to see why these guys now have more than 1,000 reviews. They do what they say, and they do it well. From the initial contact via email to the day of the duct cleaning, everything just worked like you'd want it to. The communication from the office was great from the beginning. On the day of the cleaning, the employee (Mark) showed up precisely on-time. He walked us through the entire process and encouraged us to ask any questions. He performed the work in a timely and efficient manner, and left the house exactly as he found it (only cleaner!). He followed up our appointment with a family member's house, and they had exactly the same experience. Great job.

What could this company do to improve their services?
It's nearly impossible to think of anything. It would be cool if the vacuums had cameras attached to show Before/After shots, but we knew our ducts were dirty when we heard the crap being sucked into the truck.
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Find their phone number or email address and contact them. How many 10* reviews do you need to read before you realize these guys are the "real deal"!?

This was our second move with Arby Cartage. I said it in my first review, and I'll say it again: if you need their services, just call them and stop wasting your time! These guys are incredible. Punctual, friendly, enthusiastic, and total professionals. Every item of ours was treated like it was their own (carefully moved by hand, wrapped in thick blankets, secured in the truck) It never fails to amaze us how these guys can empty the contents of a house (from top to bottom plus the garage) in two hours. Anil asked me during this past move, "How did you happen to remember us when you needed a mover?". Like I told him, we use every opportunity to tell others about Arby Cartage, and they are the first (and only) company we think of when we need movers. Great, great guys and a great company to deal with.

We hired Tom based on the hundreds of reviews here on Homestars. He didn't disappoint. A total professional in every way. He showed up on time, had a wealth of knowledge on all aspects of home construction/maintenance, and was willing to answer as many questions as we could throw at him. Pictures of every item (no matter how small) which needed attention were provided in his 54 page summary at the end of the day. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tom to anyone who needs a home inspection.

I called Open Sesame in the late morning. By the early afternoon of the same day, they had arrived and replaced the broken spring and guide wires of the garage door (and lubricated all parts of the affected door as well as another door for no additional charge). Very pleasant to deal with, quick, and very good at what they do. Precisely what we were looking for. A1 company.

Going in to our project, we already had a pretty good idea of what to expect from Final Touch. A family member had recently used Cosimo to paint their house, and their experience was exceptional from start to finish. Our experience was equally great. The initial quote and walk-through (by Cosimo) was straight-forward, reasonable (as compared to another quote we had obtained), and filled with suggestions that we may have not otherwise considered (colour choices, tint reductions, etc.). From that initial meeting, we realized that we had made the right choice in choosing Final Touch. During the period between signing the contract and the actual painting, we corresponded with Cosimo a number of times regarding colour selections, additions, and deletions. We were always responded to quickly, and with accommodation. Fast forward to the week of the painting, and you could not possibly ask for a better "experience" than we encountered. Anything and everything that needed to be taped, covered, patched, or protected was taken care of by Cosimo and Rob (and after four days of painting, we still have not found a single flake of paint anywhere that it is not supposed to be!). Every day, the time that they stated that they would start, they started. The painting itself is fantastic; colour selections and suggestions worked out great, transitions are flawless, and trim-work now stands-out. The term "pride of workmanship" doesn't even begin to describe these guys! Cosimo even fixed a builder-issue (new build house) regarding trim-work that had nothing whatsoever to do with painting, simply because he couldn't stand seeing it done incorrectly, as well as painting an area in the garage that was missed altogether by the builder (and was not part of the quote). At the end of the project, all rooms were vacuumed, and floors washed. These two are absolute professionals (and great guys) in every sense of the word, and deserve every positive review posted. I cannot possibly recommend them any more highly. P.S. And, if you are a fan of The Bachelorette, don't hesitate to discuss it with Cosimo and Rob. They are more than happy to give you their insight on this show!

My wife and I recently moved, and used Arby Cartage based solely on the experiences of others on Homestars. From start to finish, they exceeded even our highest expectations. From the initial estimate by Arby (which turned out to be PRECISELY what we ended up paying), to the day of the move itself, it would have been impossible to complain about even the smallest detail. Anil and his crew arrived early and worked tirelessly. Every item that required extra care was wrapped in protective blankets. Stairs and railings were always protected. They were friendly and courteous at all times. At the end of the move, not a single item was damaged or broken. I simply cannot recommend them any more highly. Family members said it best when they said that for the service we got, and the speed with which it was performed, you simply cannot do it any better (or any cheaper) by yourself. If you are considering a moving company, and have read this and all the reviews above, ask yourself, "Why am I not calling Arby Cartage right now?"! To all of the guys at Arby Cartage, I will take every chance I get to recommend you to others. Fantastic, fantastic job.

We chose TorontoGranite.com based solely on the recommendations of Homestars.com reviews. We're happy we did. Initial Contact: I initially contacted the company via email, sending them a rough drawing of our kitchen and a request for a "ballpark" quote. I received a response in a matter of hours (compare this to many renovators who seemingly ignore all emails and phone calls) from Bob. He detailed every step that would be taken for the installation as well as answering all of my questions (re: granite edge profiles, granite thickness, etc.) in detail. The quote he gave us via email ended up being the precise price that we paid for the granite. Pre-Install Service: In the period after the initial contact and before the installation, Bob or Mark continued to answer any questions we had. In particular, we had questions regarding all the angles that our kitchen had and how that would affect the quality of the job. All questions were answered promptly and in great detail. We were made aware of the availability of the granite, the amount of time that we could expect to wait for installation, as well as the availability of the faucet and sink that we had chosen. Templating/Installation: Very smooth process overall. When they said they would be there, they were there. If there were any delays, we were made aware of them. The templating process took perhaps an hour (I have the feeling that the angles of our kitchen made the process a lot longer than a traditional style layout). The installation of the countertops took roughly 4 hours, and went without a hitch. The installers were friendly, on-time, and great at what they do. Overall, the entire experience far exceeded what we could have expected. In 2008, we had given up on granite countertops after getting quotes in excess of $5,000 (granite/installation only). With TorontoGranite.com, we received the countertops (and installation), the granite backsplash, an undermount sink (and grid), and a fantastic faucet for just over $2,700 (incl. taxes). What was the trade-off? Nothing. Great service, honest practices (ie. ZERO hidden costs), fast timelines (we waited only one week between templating and the installation) and even faster responses to questions, friendly and professional service and installation, and the best prices...by far. If you're considering granite countertops, and you've read all these reviews, you need to go and see these guys. What the heck are you waiting for?!
