We've been putting off cleaning our carpets for almost a year since we moved into our new home as we've been hesitant to hire someone who may be "less than experienced" to clean our new zealand lambswool carpets (afraid they might shrink!). I was pleased to discover Fred from Soft Surfaces on HomeStars, liked what I saw with his stellar reviews and thought we'd give him a try. I was instantly comforted by his customer-oriented reception over the phone and felt even better about booking him as a result. I'm happy to report that we were more than pleased with Fred - he's truly "the nice guy"! He doesn't oversell or recommend things you don't need... he just does a great job cleaning your carpets (even your pricey wool ones) and answers your questions openly and honestly. He's 100% clear about his prices up front so there's no messing around when it comes to pay. In addition, Fred clearly paid attention to details by ensuring he wore booties over his shoes and laid mats to protect our floors from his equipment - it's always these little things I notice, but are really important to me as a customer. We'll absolutely be calling Soft Surfaces again for our future floor cleaning needs and won't hesitate to recommend him to our family/friends. Thanks so much for a easy experience, Fred!

I have had a lot of different carpet cleaners over the years, but without a doubt, soft surfaces has been the best ever. I was impressed with how thorough and careful they were, did not hurry in and hurry out like most others I have had. Fred took the time to explain things, discussed various ideas. I had a question about whether our hall tiles needed their tile and grout cleaning, and was amazed when Fred said that not really, the grout line was very small and we probably would not notice a huge difference after spending the money, so save the money. Wow! Such honesty and integrity I do not see very often. Most others would have said sure, clean them, I'll take your money, no problem. And the results of the carpet and upholstery cleaning that they did was really nice, work well done. In summary my entire experience dealing with Soft Surfaces was so exceptional, I give them my highest recommendation.

We had the carpets cleaned for 4 rooms, a set of stairs and the upstairs hallway. Fred did a wonderful job with cleaning the carpets, was very efficent and all for a great price. In addition, he was professional, courteous and friendly. What a pleasure he was to deal with. We highly recommend him!

I was looking to have the stairs and top floor cleaned in my condo, and I came to HomeStars to find the best out there. It turns out that the best is Soft Surfaces! I e-mailed Fred to make an appointment, and he was very accommodating of my schedule. We were in constant communication about the particulars of the job, and when the day came, he arrived when he said he would, and he and his brother did a fantastic job with my carpeting! I cannot recommend Soft Surfaces more: if you need your carpets cleaned, talk to Fred Alleyne. You will not regret it!

I found Fred to be upfront and professional about what needed to be done, how long it would take and what it would cost. He took the time to explain and frequently solicited questions to ensure we were both on the same page. He was also sensitive to and able to speak to our environmental and health concerns. He was personable, careful and did fine work.

Fred gathered my rugs from my old house, cleaned them and brought them to my new house. He also cleaned my sofa at the new house. All the while he was cheerful, wore blue booties to keep my house clean (more than I can say for many others who did work on my house that day) and even helped clean up a rug as he was leaving that was not "on the bill". Would use him again anytime.............

Fred and his crew made my "vintage" carpets look like new! They arrived on the dot of our appointment, quickly and efficiently got to work and the job was done in no time. These old wall-to-wall and stairway carpets look like they were just put down. The pile is high, clean and fresh. Fred really focused attention on the problem areas and they basically disappeared. Fred is very responsive to his customers...call-backs are almost instantaneous. I highly recommend this company without hesitation.

I have had Soft Surfaces clean my carpets for several years now. I have alwasy been satisfied with the cost and quality of work. Two winters ago, in the worst ice storm ever, I woke up to find my hot water tank had errupted. I was ankle deep in water. Fred came to my house in the storm and dried the carpet. He returned the next day to check on the progress and the third day to remove the industrial dehumidifier he had left me. I am forever greatful to Fred.
