    Extended Home Inspection

Had a home inspection done and it was extremely thorough! We had the extended inspection because we wanted the thermal imaging and it was worth the extra money. There were a few things (such as leaks) that we would not have found without it. Vahn was very friendly, approachable, and explained everything in a way that made it easier to understand. I highly recommend using Solex Group for your home inspection!

    Buyers Extended Home Inspection

If you are looking for a thorough, comprehensive and detailed home inspection - look no further than the Solex Group!!! Vahn totally exceeded our expectations on what we thought a home inspection would be like. Vahn was VERY friendly and encouraged us to walk around with him during the inspection. He answered all of our questions along the way and from talking to him you know he knows his stuff inside and out. We had also requested the thermal imaging scan and it revealed things that we would not have known otherwise, such as a section of insulation missing in our living room among other things. Our home inspection took four hours, longer than the average home inspection, and it was the best four hours I have ever spent, learning the ins and outs of our new home. Our detailed report was over 70 pages long and there were 30 pages of helpful information useful to every home owner. This was not a check box type of report. The report had pictures, recommendations and timelines of when items should be completed. You will never get a more detailed report anywhere! I would definitely recommend Vahn and Solex Group for your home inspection. Believe me, you won't be disappointed!!!

    Professional Home Inspection

As a first home buyer, my fiancée and I didn’t know if there were any problems with the house, so we called Vahn from Solex. We had many questions prepared before the inspection, Vahn went through the questions and thoroughly answered them all. He not only identified the problems of the house but he also provided invaluable recommendations on how we can fix the problems. Vahn is very detailed oriented, he performed a thorough inspection from outside of the house to the inside. During the inspection, as he was going through every inch of the house, he would educate us on many things about the house (ie., how to maintain gas furnace and hot water tank, where to shut off the water and power in case of emergencies, how to fix the current caulking problem…). After the inspection (which took more than 3 hours), we were very comfortable with our house. Overall, Vahn has exceeded our expectations. I definitely would recommend him to anyone looking for a professional home inspection. Be sure to ask as many questions about your house, there are no such things as bad or stupid questions with Vahn.

    Answer from pro:

    Home Inspection

Vahn is a great guy to work with. He was on time (actually minutes earlier than me) to get to the house I intended to buy. He is professional and very detailed in his work. He explained everything in detail by section he inspected with recommendation. I found him very knowledged and will recommend to other home buyer.

    Buyers Home Inspection

Vahn from Solex Group was great. He was very professional and really seems to know his stuff. As he was doing the inspection he would give recommendations along the way. The report was easy to navigate and his fee was very reasonable. I would definitely be using and recommending him in the future!

    Answer from pro:

You witnessed first hand the benefit of choosing your own truly independent and unbiased home inspector Matt. Unfortunately real estate sales agents control the majority of referrals to "home inspectors" and thus, sometimes promote poorly qualified inspectors. Why? There is no better way to ensure their sales are not jeopardized than to refer their unsuspecting and trusting clients a choice of poor inspectors. It's all about buyer beware these days. Thanks again for choosing Solex Group.

    Toronto Home Inspection

I went with the Solex Group because I wanted a professional who was certified to do home inspections and could break it down to me in laymen terms. My home inspector Vahn did just that! He took time to explain all the issues in great detail, along with recommended solutions for each. The report itself is incredibly detailed and is being used by my contractors to repair the house. What I liked the most is that although the property had some significant repairs needed, Vahn stayed objective and provided a clear path forward. Great Work!

    Answer from pro:

Glad I was able to help Lionel. Truth is, Ontario has some great home inspectors who really care about their clients. But there are bad apples in every industry....being an unregulated industry, we have our fair share of cowboy's out there. And it's these bad apples that give us all a bad name :( Thanks again for doing your research and choosing Solex Group.

    Home Inspection

If you ever need a detailed and professional home inspector then you need not look any further. Vahn from Solex Group is a fantastic person to deal with and takes the time to answer all questions and leaves no stone unturned. Additionally, he puts your major appliances in a recall check and if they ever get flagged, you are informed via email in the future. He also is available after the inspection if you have further questions about your house. We have used Vahn 3 times over the past 2 years. The first two times were used home inspections that we were either about to purchase or had a purchase agreement pending inspection. During both of these inspections Vahn found multiple "significant" issues (one was a house flip where everything "out of sight" was wrong) that would have had a significant financial impact. His inspections provided us with the details and information we needed to make an informed decision to protect our family. Due to these two inspections, we used Vahn again for our new house inspection to ensure that all was done to code and there was nothing to worry about on our newly built house. We plan to have him back again before our 1 year warranty expires! As there are so many inspectors out there, it is important to know the one you have looking out for your best interests with regards to your most important financial investment. You will be glad to put your trust in the experience Vahn and Solex Group can provide you. Thank you for everything Vahn!

    Answer from pro:

Thanks for the feedback Ray. It was great working with you on all those inspections....the fact that you have a technical background came in handy as I didn't have to simplify my explanations too much :) Enjoy the new home and thanks for carefully choosing Solex Group for all your home inspection needs!

    Condominium unit inspection

Vahn of Solex Group did a good job of going through all aspects of the inspection without rushing through it. He reviewed his findings and even prepared a very detailed report after the inspection. He was a pleasure to deal with and I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a reliable, certified, professional home inspector.

    Answer from pro:

    home inspection

If your looking for a home inspector, look no further…after 18 years in the same home it was time to find something bigger. The kids have grown…I received 3 quotes and chose Vahn at Solex Group Limited. I chose Vahn after checking out his web site and noticing his credentials. His price was good and Vahn’s response on the phone was excellent. I was mainly concerned about leaks and efflorescence I had noticed on the basement walls of the home we were looking at. I also wanted thermal imaging as part of the inspection as it was a stucco house and I wanted to learn about its insulation. The house is large and it took Vahn and I by his side, 4 hours to check it out. Vahn was very thorough. Unfortunately, there were many issues that were detected. The next day I received an 84 page report … Wow! I called Vahn and we discussed some of the issues in the report…I then brought all the big issues to the sellers attention and renegotiated the price on the house. I would highly recommend Vahn.

    Answer from pro:

Thanks for the review Robert. I'm glad you renegotiated the price on the house (based on what we found, it was a no brainer). What an odd situation these dual agent scenarios are where one agent/broker represent both the seller and buyer. In my honest opinion they shouldn't be allowed since a dual agent cannot represent both parties equally/fairly, especially when the commission is paid for by the seller.

    Buyers Home Inspection

Hey Vahn , wanted to say thanks for the professional and insightful work you did inspecting the property in Stouffville for us. You saved us thousands, if not hundreds of thousands from this potential money pit. We compared your report to the sellers and were just floored! It's true, you get what you pay for. We will be using your services again! We did some research on this "inspector" and he's a real estate professional favorite. Seems some poor people bought after reading his home inspection report, and were almost wiped out from the expense incurred repairing "un documented" faults or deficiencies.

    Answer from pro:

I'm not too surprised about the poor report provided by this other "inspector" that the homeowners hired. Unfortunately, some people find out the hard way that some real estate agents view a thorough and non-bias home inspection as a threat to their sales commission. We need to spread the word out there....people need to do their own research and find a qualified home inspector who is passionate about protecting their clients interests. Thanks for choosing Solex Group & taking the time to post a review Steve.
