    Termite Treatments

Joe Bruno, Owner - Snap Pest Control came highly recommended to me by an industry insider. I called him immediately upon discovering a worsening termite diagnosis in my basement (probably sounding a little “crazed” as homeowners are apt to be on receiving this sort of news) and found him very much a calming force – a matter of fact, assess the situation, here’s what we have to do kind of guy. I was grateful for his knowledge and insight as we laid out a course of action and dealt with the pest issue properly. Some months later Joe and colleague, Frank, had taken over an ongoing rodent issue I was experiencing and in process of finally fixing that problem, they discovered another termite issue, this time under the basement bedroom floor. This area had been previously treated by a large and well known company who hadn’t done a proper job (holes were drilled for pesticide distribution but not deeply enough and then never “capped” rendering the product virtually useless). I don’t know how much was charged for that treatment, but looking at the destruction to my bedroom floor it certainly didn’t serve its purpose. So the good news was they found the problem and we intended to fix it. The bad news was it was now late afternoon and equipment and solution had to be ordered and retrieved from Oakville then brought back to site. To make matters worse, the product and equipment were temperature sensitive and the temperature was dropping, FAST. Joe and Frank went above and beyond that afternoon and kept working into the night. They got the product into the floor in the very nick of time and then had to spend another few hours de-icing the equipment. They could have said forget it – we don’t do termite work after September – they could have decided it was too much bother to even try. But they didn’t – they took a chance, a gamble for my best interests and worked their butts off to get the treatment done. I don’t know about you, but my home is my largest investment. Sure, there are occasions where I want trades to sharpen their pencils – when I want to see if there is money to be saved – but sometimes you realize you get what you pay for. And Joe Bruno and Snap Pest Control, are quite simply, THE BEST.

Thanks so much. I was referred by a colleague on a termite issue which later became a rodent issue and then a termite issue again. That's a first for me. I will work on a pest issue in tandem with other exterminators and or companies in order to solve a pest problem or learn something. The company working on the project put a lot of effort into solving the issue to their credit. I was there for termites and just couldn't help but get involved with the rodent issue.Taking over from the existing company which had referred me for the termites was a simple transition with no hard feelings because they wanted it solved due to the numerous call backs which had eroded any and all possible profit. The job itself was done over the course of 3 days. We had to rent fans for exhaust and removed drywall, flooring, ceilings, walls ,insulation, and all manner of stuff bag by bag to the dump..The holes ( from the other termite company too ) were sealed and I will be monitoring the home for the nest few years. Thanks again Joe

    Pest-proofing roof and attic

We started hearing critters (probably squirrels) moving around in our attic. Of the four companies I contacted (2 of which never got back to me!), Joe at Snap Pest Control was the first to respond, and quickly answered all my questions. Joe and Angelique came within the week and, after making sure the critters were not in the attic at that moment, installed wire meshing all around our roof and capped our chimney. They took great care in making sure that it was installed properly so that they would not find a way back in - Joe even went back up there a couple of times to re-verify everything. All in all, they spent about ten hours at our house! A reasonable price for a full day of work and a job well done. Joe came back a month later to remove the one-way trap, at no charge. We are very satisfied with the work and with Joe and Angelique.

Thanks guys, it was a important to get this roof closed up tight or the squirrels would be back in no time. So happy it all turned out well. Thanks again.Joe

    Pest Control

This was the second time I used SNAP, after Joe helped extract a raccoon family from my garage a few years ago. Joe does a great job of sizing up the situation - this time it was a rodent tunneling in my basement. Like Sherlock Holmes he took his time to fully assess the situation before deciding on a course of action, which I really appreciated. The problem has been resolved and Joe was generous with his time and insight on how to better protect my house in the future. A very insightful, experienced guy, and a really ally in combating unwanted visitors. A great experience all around. I highly recommend him.

Thanks for your review. I feel honored to be associated with Sherlock Holmes in any manner. In fact, having read all the stories I abide by his principle that "when you eliminate the impossible whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth." His ideas are practiced through my pest control efforts on each and every job. The idea is similar to following the process of elimination. As an inspection takes place I am constantly ruling out possibilities. Eventually I can narrow my search where I can collect evidence of a pests presence. I typically find droppings, hairs, rub marks, chew marks, nesting debris, seeds, and even tail tracks through a dusty vent here and there etc...Once entry has been found I like to seal it then and there lest more pests enter over night. The ability to detect subtle differences in clues takes 1000s of jobs with a steady determination. Having said that let me conclude by saying thanks once more. Now lieutenant Colombo of the L.A.P.D he's another story.... Joe

    termite treatment

SNAP (Joe and team) treated our home for termites discovered in the basement and the main floor. Two major spray treatments were completed to the woodwork as well as the drilling of holes (and parging to patch up the holes) in the wood framework and around the exterior of the home to inject the insecticide into the ground. Last treatment was in August 2014. SNAP even followed up with us in October and sprayed one more extra spot we decided to gut as well at no charge. SNAP was conscientious, thorough, and returned messages consistently. So far it is looking good that the treatment was successful and we intend to use SNAP as our regular "check up" contacts for prevention. Thank you to Joe especially and the SNAP team.

Thank you for the kind review. It was a pleasure working with you guys to rid the home of the termites. I understand how invasive termites may be and will be conducting inspections until I'm truly confident that they are gone. Thanks Joe

    Racoon Removal

We heard the noise from the roof, and found animal's footprint on the driveway, but the roof looked good, there was no any broken shingles. We called Joe, he came and confirmed that it was racoon, and showed us where and how racoon broke into the roof: two pent roof plus a wall form a triangle, and racoon used his back to bend the aluminum to get in, the entrance is hidden, if Joe didn't tell us, we would never realize this. Before Joe seal the hole, he checked the entire roof, reinforced all loose vents with meshes, and then covered the triangle area by mesh as well, and sealed all the corner carefully, so not only racoon can't get in, but also squirrel. Then he installed the one way door, and suggested us to put a ball against the door, it's a great idea, the next midnight, we heard the ball dropped, and then saw the raccoon climbed down from the roof, we were so happy to see it's gone. Now the roof is racoon-proof, all the hard work was done at a very fair price. Joe is extremely knowledgeable, professional and friendly, and was always responsive to our concerns. He is absolutely the best!

    Answer from pro:

Thanks guys. I try my best that's all. It was a challenging job and I know you liked my ball trick. Clients just want to feel assured that the raccoons are out and its a quick way to know.Glad it worked out well. Thanks again.Joe

    pest (mice) control

I was very please with Joe's services. He was kind and very thorough when doing is job. He also informed me on what the problem was and he showed me how he fixed the problem. I would definitely recommend Joe to others. Thank you for services.

    Answer from pro:

Thanks for the kind review. It was great to find the entry point at your home. Finally, the issue is resolved for good. I must admit I spent a lot of time on one particular section of the basement. Looking for droppings, feeling cold, seeing light penetration, and seeing a gap by a vent made me think I had found the spot. Even with all these clues, I still felt as if there was something not right. The lack of rub marks bothered me and I moved into the garage near the corner which corresponds with the droppings and after looking at the same area for quite some time found the spot.. Thanks ,Joe

    Wasp Nest Removal

We had a wasp nest larger than a soccer ball - Joe expertly removed it and did a great job cleaning up the area, even though it required him to move around the roof of our house to accomplish it. We recommend him highly.

Thanks for the review. Funny it took longer to clean the nest material off the so-fit then to remove the nest with all its wasps. Thanks again

    termite inspection

Fantastic experience with Joe - on time, friendly, knowledgeable, willing to answer questions in detail, comprehensive in his approach - couldn't have asked for more. Highly recommended for termite inspections!

    Answer from pro:

Thanks for your review. Termite inspections are unique in that no two house are the same. The decision to get an inspection done is wise given the far reaching nature of the termite problem. My inspections usually take about an hour at a minimum and considering the price of homes money well spent. Thanks Joe

    Pest Control –Mice

House Mouse? We heard mouse noises behind our kitchen wall and were none too happy. Luckily, Joe came quickly to the rescue. I love the fact that the person I spoke to on the phone is the same person that came to my house and will come again if needed. To me, continuity is extremely important - and I know many other companies do not offer this. Joe enthusiastically tackles the job from start to finish. He loves his job and it shows in his work. He spent a good 3 hours at my home which really impressed me. I found Joe to be personable, communicative and down-to-earth. He displayed a strong work ethic ensuring the task was completed in a thorough and complete manner. He didn't just bait. He did a COMPLETE inspection of the house interior and exterior to determine mouse entry points, which he then expertly sealed off to prevent further mouse entry. I was impressed with his knowledge and immediate identification of one of the main entry points (which he later verified with his camera).

    Answer from pro:

Wow such a cool review and with photos too. The job was exciting and intriguing to me in that the mice seemed confined to one particular wall in the kitchen. The cold room downstairs was untouched which indicated a food source was abundant and nearby. As evidenced by the pictures the mice were running upwards ( not 1 dropping on the floor of that garage!!! ) and I even entered the attic above the garage to follow the droppings. Mice droppings can be a very effective tool in determining the extent of a rodent infestation. Some droppings were dull in color ( old ) and some were shinny black ( recent ) which indicated an ongoing nest issue. Also, it was observed that seeds were clearly being stored in this nest which belonged to the rosewood tree in the front lawn as well as a black locust which could be found on the boulevard. The actual direction that dropping are found in is also important with more that 50% of them pointed towards this same interior location. Rub marks were seen and with a magnify glass I could even see trace evidence at the exact location where they were entering via the garage door. Thanks again Joe
